Wake up time

Posted on June 28th, 2010 by Shawn in Joyous Living

Had a late lunch the other day with my dear friend, Jennifer Grainger of Spiritual Growth Community.  Although we laughed a lot, one of our more serious topics was about some of the changes taking place in the world.  Woe to those who think that economic recovery means that things will go back to the way they were!  It just isn’t going to happen and we may as well recognize that fact and start moving on.  (Remember Who Moved My Cheese?)  This is an evolutionary time and those who are evolving, changing, growing will be the ones who survive and can thrive.

In Friday’s paper, there was a touching photo of a man, an oil rig workman from one of the gulf states, with a sign reading, ‘Save American Jobs.’   Wouldn’t it be great to save the jobs, the livelihoods of people who are deeply affected by this horrible oil ‘spill.’  But, like it or not, life will not be the same for the people in the gulf area…it’s the end of the world as they know it.  It’s coming to be the end of the world as most of us know it.  Big changes are in store – for all of us.  How can we prepare for them?  How can we maintain some semblance of balance?

We’ll fall on our faces a lot as we navigate new ways of doing things, but so will everyone else!  This will all be new territory.
